Swearing In Ceremony Reception and Registering to Vote. We will happily welcome the newly sworn in citizens to their new home and country, have a reception for them and have the city clerk on hand to register them to vote. We will also give them information on how to get more information on the candidates. Registering them to vote via the city clerk allows them to vote absentee the first time since they will be identified by official personnel.

LWV TA Kick Off Dinner. This is the official kick off of our work year tho we will have been working all summer educating ourselves and preparing for the upcoming election. We will enjoy the camaraderie of our fellow members, significant others, friends, and anyone from the city who wants to join us in a pizza and salad and dessert and beverage dinner. The presentation will be two pro and two con people who will speak to the Troy city's land use Cost is $10 per person if you eat and free if you come to hear the speakers only. Troy City Council Candidates Night. Seven people are running for 3 expiring seats on Troy City Council. This is a one hour program where candidates can answer questions posed by the audience in writing on 3x5cards provided at the site and grouped by subject to get as many topics as possible covered in that time. We must be ready to start the program at 7pm so please come early enough to get seated and comfortable before then.
